Actively Mobile
Actively Mobile integrates traditional training tools with new mobile services, and enables voice communication with control. Because it is designed specifically for running, it is easy to use and supports the mindset of the runner in motion. Through a small device worn on the arm, wrist, or hip, the runer can access functionality only available currently by carrying several devices: a stopwatch, speedometer, heart rate montior, GPS, MP3 player, and mobile phone. Integrating these features creates new opportunities to support the running experience, including specialized services designed to aid motivation and performance. Read more.

Collabolla

In Collabolla, two players share control of a single character’s movement to play a classic arcade game (pacman). The joystick is replaced by two space hopper balls – one for the x axis and one for the y axis. Players can use the space hopper balls however they wish – bounce, roll, rock back and forth, one moving pacman up and down, and the other left and right. Players have to communicate and cooperate with each other to move pacman around the screen. It’s a hell of a lot of fun. Collabolla was exhibited at Bu.net internet cafe in Turin, Italy in Jan 04, at the Triennale during Salone Di Mobile in Milano in April 04, and at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London in May/June 05. (with Nathan Waterhouse and Simone Pia)

Working mothers are busy people. In addition to balancing work and home life, they often juggle the roles of primary parent and homemaker. The goal of our project is to make the day-to-day life of the working mother a little bit easier.
Working mothers rarely ask for help, and when they do, they ask the same people — their partners, their parents, or very close friends. But what if they were to ask each other for help – other moms with the same schedules, who already buy diapers, drive their kids to the same places? What if one mother could see when another mother was at the store and she could pick up some groceries for her? Maybe this way, mothers could use a brand new support network to lighten their loads and make their day-to-day schedules a little more bearable. (with Andreea Chelaru)

Egg
The Egg is a project that looks at the short-term negotiations of time between events. By using a physical device, users have an ambient notification of when their next event is. It allows them to communicate to people in their next meeting when they are about to be late. It’s the bridge between the now, and the very very soon. We called this time “eggtime.”
The Egg is the scheduling device used to communicate our concept of eggtime and last minute scheduling. The Egg is a wireless device people carry with them. The user receives a visualization of their current time commitments and also a non-intrusive way to tell others that they will be slightly late. (with Tom Stovicek)
